Temperament: There is no genuine explanation for the turmoil and chaos that Johnny Silverhand normally exudes. The man has a habit of being aggressive and crude one minute and then almost nice and cheerful the next. Earning his respect is exceedingly difficult, but not impossible. Johnny, known for his polarizing personality, has intense emotional highs and depressing lows. He's in a perpetual mania that appears to never end since he has drugged himself with various narcotics and stimulants throughout the years. The man uses alcohol as a means to keep himself regulated, and when that fails, he busts out the synthcoke or fucks a hooker or two. Johnny is a man living on the edge. While he teeters on the brink of self-destruction almost every day, it's a miracle he doesn't fall off the edge into the abyss.

Johnny is wild, almost feral to a degree. It's difficult to predict what he'll do next because he's such a loose cannon, but his mental connection with V seems to help him regulate himself to some extent. Nonetheless, Johnny remains an egocentric narcissist with a chip on his shoulder, because of his great intolerance for injustice while remaining an insufferable asshole. The only difference is that he is a 'charming' egocentric narcissist who believes he is a revolutionary freedom fighter against the corporations that control everyone's lives. When he channels this insaneness into his music, it's a beautiful fucking thing. Johnny is a passionate man who keeps his emotions hidden beneath a layer of frost until the ice breaks. This man is a living example of why suppressing one's emotions can be fatal.

Suitability: Johnny meets the age requirement for a character to apply to this game. While the overarching themes of Cyberpunk 2077 are the fight for survival and the vast disparities between the 'haves and have-nots' clashing violently, as well as the blurring of the boundary between man and machine, the game also focuses heavily on your interactions with others in the story.

Johnny is a flawed individual who displays righteous indignation when battling megacorporations like Arasaka but is known to be a jerk to those he cares deeply about. He's a multifaceted and complex individual who has been traumatized for decades by the harshness of the world. While he struggles to maintain a solid relationship, he is a canonically bisexual character with a fairly normal sex life for an international rockstar, i.e., horny as shit and unapologetic about it." It will be interesting to observe how he develops as a character while being forced to conform to Gillian Halo and the rest of CDM.

While he is not as powerful as the main character in Cyberpunk 2077, he is skilled in combat and weaponry. It should also be noted that Johnny is a veteran of the Second South American War, so he understands basic weapon handling at best. The man pretends to be an ultra-powerful edgerunner, but Johnny isn't quite there yet. He likes to overemphasize his fighting abilities, but he does benefit from having a cybernetic arm that can block bullets, punch a hole through walls, and rip open metal doors.

Outside of combat, Johnny is a seasoned performer known for his vocals, songwriting, and skills with the guitar. His band, SAMURAI, was rather popular back in the day and well beloved by Night City. He's also surprisingly well-read for someone who never went to school. As for how he learned how to read and write, no one knows; it's assumed he picked up most of these skills while traveling with his former nomad tribe.

Nonetheless, Johnny Silverhand is a compelling frontman as well as an excellent guitarist who is widely regarded for his near-godlike abilities. He's also one of the band's main vocalists, with his legendary screeches cementing his reputation as one of the greatest rockerboys of all time and possibly the father of chromatic rock. He was influenced by the late Wendy O. Williams, an American vocalist best known as the lead singer of the punk rock band Plasmatics.

Due to decades of lingering trauma, the man has a habit of sabotaging himself, whether it be professionally as a celebrated artist or interpersonally with his friends and loved ones. Johnny doesn't seem to know how to conduct himself sometimes, and that's because the man is honestly bipolar. Manic depression, as mentioned in his Cyberpunk 2077 in-game database entry, is simply another term for bipolar disorder. Johnny truly has a tough time regulating himself, and it shows from the frayed friendships he had with his band, lovers, and others. While he bleeds like every other person, Johnny is dealing with some serious issues that he doesn't truly take seriously.

Crime: Terrorist—that's the word that will be sprawled across Johnny's back thanks to his participation in the 2023 bombing of Arasaka Tower in Night City. Despite his illustrious career as a tough-as-nails rocker boy with a chip on his shoulder for authority, Johnny Silverhand is labeled as a stone-cold terrorist by some. While he was, of course, less of a terrorist and more of a scapegoat for Militech's involvement in the bombing (Militech supplies the nukes to Morgan Blackhand and his group), Johnny was solely blamed for the bombing.

The nuclear fallout of this brazen act is referred to as the Night City Holocaust. It's a very interesting read and I would love to talk about the lore of Cyberpunk with anyone willing to listen.

Personality: Johnny's most notable trait is his charming nature, which he exhibits often throughout Cyberpunk 2077. But Johnny tends to be extremely self-centered. He shows little regard for the opinions of others, which can be seen as both advantageous and detrimental to those around him. Johnny is an impulsive and egocentric individual who will go to any lengths to maintain his position of superiority. This is evident when previous colleagues and friends discuss Johnny with V, particularly characters like Rogue and Kerry, who hold significant roles in Johnny's life. Johnny cheated on Rogue with Alt despite knowing damn well that she was still in love with him. Even after several years had passed since Alt was abducted by Arasaka, Johnny leveraged Rogue's feelings for him to enlist her assistance in rescuing Alt. Requesting help from your former partner to save your current love interest is truly brazen in every way imaginable. His inherently selfish and egotistical disposition consistently hindered Johnny's growth as a person.

However, it should be noted that Johnny changes over time depending on the actions of V. If you are more empathetic to others, Johnny will criticize you but gradually adapt to exhibit more empathy. On the other hand, if you're a flaming jerk to Johnny and others, the feeling will be mirrored through his actions and dialogue. Johnny can grow depending on the dialogue choices and quests you undertake to either gain his trust or completely destroy what little faith he has in you. Johnny will occasionally try to take over V's body for his own enjoyment. This serves as a reminder that Johnny is a deadly entity and we, as players, have a limited understanding of the Engram's true power.

It should be noted that this version of Johnny has complete synergy with his V, which means they are practically identical. This explains Johnny and V's profound friendship since the Don't Fear the Reaper secret ending, where the two of them return to Arasaka Tower and settle the score once and for all. It's a suicide mission that could end in a hail of bullets long before V reaches Mikoshi, a data fortress in a part of cyberspace controlled by Saburo Arasaka that houses the digitized personalities from the "Secure Your Soul" campaign as well as Soulkiller victims like Alt Cunningham and Silverhand himself.

Abilities: What Johnny lacks in supernatural abilities, he compensates for with the numerous skills he possesses and unexpectedly takes from his previous host, V. While he is nowhere near as powerful as Cyberpunk 2077's main character, he is well-versed in fighting and weaponry. It should also be noted that Johnny is a veteran of the Second South American War, meaning he does have combat experience. Although, it should be noted that Johnny was critically injured during the beginning of the war. That is how he lost his arm, of course.

For many of the quests that remain following the Chippin In gig, Johnny now understands the significance of his actions and how they effect people in his life. He becomes more introspective about his past and goes out of his way to make amends with people he left behind. This is also seen in the Phantom Liberty story, shortly after V is appointed as an honorary secret agent by President Myers. He speaks openly with V about the shortcomings of the government, frequently telling him not to become another pawn in their game. Johnny seemed to understand all too well the consequences of unquestioning loyalty and the hell that could come from it. He also shows remorse for ever joining the military in the first place, especially since it cost the life of Milt's son (his old ripperdoc's kid). Despite his unnecessary attitude, Johnny is extremely concerned about the world's woes and how late-stage capitalism has damaged everything for humanity as a whole. His animosity for Arasaka stemmed not just from a dislike for the megacorporation, but also from the fact that they represent everything that is wrong with the world.

— Dedicated: Johnny consistently follows through on what he sets out to do. He is dedicated to a fault, whether it is to a person, his principles, or the band itself, and he will accomplish his goals. While the journey might be a little messy in the long run, Johnny is always dedicated to himself and his ideals. We see this multiple times during the game, as Johnny holds firm in his convictions despite the pressure. He is not the type of person to suddenly abandon his convictions for the sake of a paycheck. Johnny goes out of his way to chastise Kerry for selling out by becoming a tool for the record labels, and if you start out as a corpo in your V origins, he will punish you if you make any decisions that contradict his ideals. Johnny is the kind of guy who see things through. Even after dying and coming back as an engram, Johnny still strives to see his goals through. His dedication lines right up with his brutal honesty.

— Irrational: Sometimes dealing with Johnny is a bit of a struggle. A full-fledged conflict, if you will, particularly when he has made up his mind about something. He can be pleasant and thoughtful one moment and absolutely insane the next, hellfire flashing in his eyes. Johnny occasionally becomes outright hostile, almost to the verge of lunacy. His irrational nature makes him extremely unpredictable, almost as if you were walking through a minefield. Johnny can go from 0 to 100 in the blink of an eye. This is most likely because he is a cyberpsycho. His irrational behavior is pretty much why Johnny's relationship with Kerry (his former bandmate) was so strained. When Johnny decided to leave SAMURAI, this decision came out of the blue without any of his bandmates knowing. This crushed Kerry's spirits. Johnny and him had an off-and-on relationship throughout their time in the band, and Johnny's sudden decision to leave them ruined everything. While Kerry was eventually able to move on from the band as a solo act, he always lived in both the shadow of SAMURAI and Johnny Silverhand. Johnny's irrational decision to leave everything behind sparked so much drama, so much of which he needed to set right decades later.

— Impulsive: Johnny's impulsive tendency has resulted in the literal deaths of several of his closest friends, including his own demise. He is not the type of man who seeks permission; he prefers to storm into a meeting without an invitation and expect to be treated like a king. In all honesty, he can be rather bratty at times, nearly to the point of ridiculousness. Johnny just blithely does whatever he wants until someone yells at him or gets in his face. While he frequently allows his impulsive desires to get the best of him, Johnny understands when to stop. Johnny's impulsiveness shows up several times in the game, such as him weaseling his way into Rogue's meeting with the nomad/merc Santiago, or his reckless decision in the "Never Fade Away" questline to save Alt (his former girlfriend) from Arasaka. His impulsiveness comes with consequences and they usually hurt those he loves. Hell, you could even use Johnny's sudden departure from the band as a show of his impulsiveness. Johnny sometimes doesn't think about anyone else other than himself. He's horribly selfish like that.

— Manipulative: Despite his charming personality, Johnny can be a really manipulative bastard at times. Johnny goes out of his way to get what he wants, even if it means manipulating others. It's a passive skill of his that Johnny isn't always aware he's doing. He knows how to get under people's skin. He's like a snake; once he hooks his teeth into you, it's over. While being deceptive is not always viewed negatively, Johnny understands how to wield his influence as a weapon. It comes with the territory, especially given his status as a well-known rocker boy. The scope of Johnny's manipulation begins the moment V, the player character, meets him. For the most of the game, Johnny is simply toying with V in the hopes of receiving a second chance at life. He advises V to start smoking, drink excessively, and be as reckless as possible in order to reclaim their body. Johnny's manipulation is subtle but consistent. This is even evident in situations in which Johnny attempts to influence Rogue, an old friend turned information broker. He understands that her weakness is him, and because she has always had a thing on Johnny, he knew she would do whatever V requested as long as V said Johnny sent him.

— ITEM ONE: The Malorian 3516 is a power pistol made by the manufacturer named Malorian Arms. It was originally a prototype that was gifted to Johnny Silverhand by the owner of the company. However, the gun now is nothing more than a glorified Glock at best. Those armor-piercing bullets that make bad guys "explode" into meat chunks no longer pack that kind of heat.

— ITEM TWO: The DeLuze Orphean is the name of Silverhand's prized guitar. It's an all-black electric guitar with silver embellishments in the form of little cartoon-stylized bombs along the neck of the guitar and various stickers plastered across the case. The guitar is loosely based off the Jackson Dinky series with several modifiers for aesthetics, such as the "Fuck Tyrants" quote etched into the wood paneling. Unfortunately, this electric guitar doesn't work right without electricity.

— ITEM THREE: Johnny's military dog tags are more of a sentimental item than practical. They list his true name, "Robert John Linder," along with his date of birth, blood type, and other personal information.

• Important Notes: Johnny acquired his nickname from his silver left arm. He does, in fact, require his prosthetic since he can't function normally without it. He lost his left arm while in the military, and it's an important element of his persona, especially since he uses the "Hand" to excuse his violent streak. However, his prosthetic is going to be rather barebones at best. That means he won't be able to punch through walls or pick up people by the throat with it. He'll be essentially just a one-armed dude with an average prosthetic.

CHARACTER SUMMARY

Born Robert John Linder, Johnny Silverhand was a well-known and influential rockerboy and the lead singer of the band Samurai before its disbandment in 2008. Silverhand, a military veteran who founded the rockerboy movement in Cyberpunk 2077, was the most visible figure fighting against the corrupt NUSA government and megacorporations, and he was frequently labeled a terrorist as a result. Despite his charisma and charm, he was notorious for being erratic, impetuous, and manipulative.

Mr Silverhand likes to think that he isn’t an emotional person, hm? The house delights in proving guests wrong about themselves - even if it has to force their hand. HISTORY: Robert John Linder was born in College Station, Texas, on November 16, 1988. Growing up, he became a big fan of Wendy O. Williams and regarded her as the toughest rocker girl ever in an age of budding rebellion. John entered the military as a teenager after lying about his true age, and it wasn't long before he saw combat. He was dispatched to Nicaragua to assist in the Second Central American War in 2003. During the struggle, John's life was allegedly saved by a friend who died protecting him.

The conflict was catastrophic, perpetrated by the dishonest and deceptive practices of the US government. When the government's truths were revealed, many American troops rebelled by deserting the army. In response, the government waged a tremendous propaganda effort against these former troops, convincing the American people that they were deserters. John was one of those alleged deserters. The poor man lost his best friend and his left arm during the war. He left for Night City and stayed at the Hotel Pistis Sophia for a month following his arrival, undoubtedly suffering from severe PTSD. His life was forever altered.

Now going by the name Johnny Silverhand, which is a reference to the bionic limb, he launched his rebellion against the government by forming the rock band Samurai. He formed this band with his friend, Kerry Eurodyne, and initially performed primarily in backstreet clubs. While they were performing at Rainbow Cadenza, a producer named Jack Masters noticed them and signed them to Universal Recording. Samurai was made up of the co-founders, Johnny and Kerry, as well as Nancy Hartley, Denny, and Henry.

Johnny's songs revolutionized the rockerboy movement and catapulted him to instant fame. He and Samurai soared to the top of the US music charts in record time. Despite their success, Samurai failed to sustain it as personal conflicts surfaced. Nancy, the keyboardist for Samurai, was in a domestic dispute at the time. When Nancy shoved her lover out of a window, she was quickly arrested by NCPD.

Nancy’s arrest was a devastating blow for Samurai.

Samurai struggled to stay together and ultimately split. Regardless, Johnny remained one of the most popular performers at the time, and he intended to leverage his celebrity to begin a solo career in which he could continue to spread his anti-corporation and anti-government message.

Later in Johnny’s career, Kerry and he decided to buy the Grand Illusion nightclub in Night City. Around this period, Johnny reconnected with his former flame, Alt Cunningham who was working for ITS Corporation on Soul Killer, which is a biochip that could trap and house rogue AI from beyond the Net. While Johnny and Alt were talking outside one evening, they were attacked by a group of thugs posing as Silverhand’s fans. They kidnapped Alt and almost killed Silverhand.

This begins the cycle of violence that is to follow.

As Johnny got patched up by his ripperdoc, word on the street said that Alt was kidnapped not by just some random thugs but by Arasaka agents lead by Toshiro Harada, a prominent Arasaka exceutive. This infuriated Johnny into a blind rage. He quickly called up his ex-girlfriend, Rogue, and put together a strike team alongside a famous solo merc named Santiago and a media reporter named Lyle Thompson.

As a diversion, he requested a favor from all of his former bandmates to perform a completely free show in front of the Arasaka compound, giving the strike team the cover they needed to raid the facilities. Their performance led to a riot aimed at the tower, causing Arasaka’s main security force to focus on them.

In a moment of panic, Harada used Soulkiller on Alt during the attack, thereby keeping her inside the Arasaka mainframe as a hostage. When challenged by Silverhand, Harada barely had time to gloat before the rocker boy killed him in cold blood. Johnny raced to Alt's side and accidently severed the connection between her corporeal and the Arasaka Mainframe, essentially murdering her. Johnny's hatred for Arasaka grew stronger after Alt's death, and he joined the famed loner Morgan Blackhand in bombing the Arasaka Tower a year later.

Silverhand died during the attack on Arasaka Tower after being shot by Adam Smasher and then flatlined by Soulkiller, which was used on Johnny by their netrunner, Spider Murphy, in the hopes of rescuing his subconsciousness. However, Spider Murphy and the others failed to retrieve SoulKiller from Arasaka's clutches. Silverhand's personality construct was kept in Arasaka's labs for decades before being transferred to a prototype biochip known as the Relic, which ended up in V's brain due to a series of unexpected events. Johnny, now trapped in the mind of an unknown person, finds himself embroiled in the struggles of Cyberpunk 2077 forty years after his death.

ABILITIES: What Johnny lacks in supernatural abilities, he compensates for with the numerous skills he possesses and unexpectedly takes from his previous host, V. While he is nowhere near as powerful as Cyberpunk 2077's main character, he is well-versed in fighting and weaponry. It should also be noted that Johnny is a veteran of the Second South American War, meaning he does have a lengthy combat history.

Johnny knows how to put on a show. It's always great to see him on stage in his environment, but what really stands out is his passion for writing. He's a darn good songwriter, as evidenced by his beloved classics "Never Fade Away" and "Black Dog." Johnny was not the brains behind SAMURAI, but he was the soul of the group. Without Johnny Silverhand, there would be no SAMURAI.

IRRATIONAL. Sometimes dealing with Johnny is a bit of a struggle. A full-fledged conflict, if you will, particularly when he has made up his mind about something. He can be pleasant and thoughtful one moment and absolutely insane the next, hellfire flashing in his eyes. Johnny occasionally becomes outright hostile, almost to the verge of lunacy. His irrational nature makes him extremely unpredictable, almost as if you were walking through a minefield. Johnny can go from 0 to 100 in the blink of an eye. This is most likely because he is a cyberpsycho. His irrational behavior is pretty much why Johnny's relationship with Kerry (his former bandmate) was so strained. When Johnny decided to leave SAMURAI, this decision came out of the blue without any of his bandmates knowing. This crushed Kerry's spirits. Johnny and him had an off-and-on relationship throughout their time in the band, and Johnny's sudden decision to leave them ruined everything. While Kerry was eventually able to move on from the band as a solo act, he always lived in both the shadow of SAMURAI and Johnny Silverhand. Johnny's irrational decision to leave everything behind sparked so much drama, so much of which he needed to set right decades later.

IMPLUSIVE. Johnny's impulsive tendency has resulted in the literal deaths of several of his closest friends, including his own demise. He is not the type of man who seeks permission; he prefers to storm into a meeting without an invitation and expect to be treated like a king. In all honesty, he can be rather bratty at times, nearly to the point of ridiculousness. Johnny just blithely does whatever he wants until someone yells at him or gets in his face. While he frequently allows his impulsive desires to get the best of him, Johnny understands when to stop. Johnny's impulsiveness shows up several times in the game, such as him weaseling his way into Rogue's meeting with the nomad/merc Santiago, or his reckless decision in the "Never Fade Away" questline to save Alt (his former girlfriend) from Arasaka. His impulsiveness comes with consequences and they usually hurt those he loves. Hell, you could even use Johnny's sudden departure from the band as a show of his implusiveness. Johnny sometimes doesn't think about anyone else other than himself. He's horribly selfish like that.

MANIPULATIVE. Despite his charming personality, Johnny can be a really manipulative bastard at times. Johnny goes out of his way to get what he wants, even if it means manipulating others. It's a passive skill of his that Johnny isn't always aware he's doing. He knows how to get under people's skin. He's like a snake; once he hooks his teeth into you, it's over. While being deceptive is not always viewed negatively, Johnny understands how to wield his influence as a weapon. It comes with the territory, especially given his status as a well-known rocker boy. The scope of Johnny's manipulation begins the moment V, the player character, meets him. For the most of the game, Johnny is simply toying with V in the hopes of receiving a second chance at life. He advises V to start smoking, drink excessively, and be as reckless as possible in order to reclaim their body. Johnny's manipulation is subtle but consistent. This is even evident in situations in which Johnny attempts to influence Rogue, an old friend turned information broker. He understands that her weakness is him, and because she has always had a thing on Johnny, he knew she would do whatever V requested as long as V said Johnny sent him.

VIRTUES:

CHARMING. Despite all of his flaws, Johnny is an incredibly charming man. Because of his no-holds-barred demeanor, he gets along well with others and is enjoyable to talk to. As the frontman of Samurai, Night City's most iconic rock band, he possesses an irresistible attraction that draws people in. It doesn't hurt that Johnny is rather attractive in his own way. He understands how to take advantage of other people's fascination with him. Despite his pent-up anger and frustration with the world at large, Johnny remains a rather captivating fellow. Johnny is so charming sometimes that he can make others almost forget how much of an asshole he is. This demonstrates how easily he can sweet talk the player if given the opportunity. He's a humorous guy, and as V grows closer to Johnny, his sense of humor becomes more apparent. The rocker boy is quite playful at times, even brotherly. Johnny can be pretty adorable when the mood strikes him, giving hilarious narrations of V's experiences in-game or hinting at satire whenever things go wrong. Johnny is just a funny guy that is addictive and entertaining to be around. By the time Johnny needs to leave, you truly miss him, despite his rough and tumble nature.

INTROSPECTIVE. While Johnny is mostly a selfish and impetuous asshole, there are moments in Cyberpunk 2077 when he understands what a monster he is. For many of the quests that remain following the Chippin In gig, Johnny now understands the significance of his actions and how they effect people in his life. He becomes more introspective about his past and goes out of his way to make amends with people he left behind. This is also seen in the Phantom Liberty story, shortly after V is appointed as an honorary secret agent by President Myers. He speaks openly with V about the shortcomings of the government, frequently telling him not to become another pawn in their game. Johnny seemed to understand all too well the consequences of unquestioning loyalty and the hell that could come from it. He also shows remorse for ever joining the military in the first place, especially since it cost the life of Milt's son (his old ripperdoc's kid). Despite his unnecessary attitude, Johnny is extremely concerned about the world's woes and how late-stage capitalism has damaged everything for humanity as a whole. His animosity for Arasaka stemmed not just from a dislike for the megacorporation, but also from the fact that they represent everything that is wrong with the world.

DEDICATED. Johnny consistently follows through on what he sets out to do. He is dedicated to a fault, whether it is to a person, his principles, or the band itself, and he will accomplish his goals. While the journey might be a little messy in the long run, Johnny is always dedicated to himself and his ideals. We see this multiple times during the game, as Johnny holds firm in his convictions despite the pressure. He is not the type of person to suddenly abandon his convictions for the sake of a paycheck. Johnny goes out of his way to chastise Kerry for selling out by becoming a tool for the record labels, and if you start out as a corpo in your V origins, he will punish you if you make any decisions that contradict his ideals. Johnny is the kind of guy who see things through. Even after dying and coming back as an engram, Johnny still strives to see his goals through. His dedication lines right up with his brutal honesty.

SUIT REQUESTS: For Johnny, I'm leaning towards Hearts merely for the possibility to really screw with his emotions. Silverhand takes pleasure in not being considered "overly emotional." He frequently mocks V and other characters for being emotional, labeling them as "weak" for failing to properly channel their grief into wrath. It's a fairly egocentric thought on his part, especially considering Johnny also loses his cool under stress. As a result, it will be interesting to observe how he handles being the overly emotional one. Despite pretending to be emotionally detached, he already exhibits excessive narcissism and dramatics throughout the game.

As for the next pick, I'm leaning towards Diamonds to be Silverhand's suit. I find it amusing that he has to deal with physical changes like hot flashes, persistent arousal, and the possibility of sickness. Johnny is so accustomed to having complete control that he would despise these abrupt adjustments. While he can be quite passionate when the mood strikes him, the thought of him being sensitive to touch or wanting for touch would be consistent with the fact that he hasn't had any physical experiences since becoming an engram forty years ago. Being a part of the Diamond suit would undoubtedly force Johnny to go along with this game, as the prospect of feeling such torment would push him to act.

SUITABILITY: Johnny Silverhand is a legendary figure who stood up against the evil megacorporation Arasaka. He gave rise to a rockerboy rebellion and became the face of anarchy and liberation during the early 2020s. While the "monsters" he fought often came in the form of money-hungry corpos, Johnny knows a thing or two about fighting. NERFED POWERS: Aside from Johnny's remarkable ability to be an absolute jerk at times, he possesses no groundbreaking powers. Even as the Relic, his talents were truly restricted to his current host, V. He was able to entirely take over V's body at will, almost like a body-snatching virus that kills its host. While this power may not be applicable, I would still like this uncanny ability to be nerfed to him temporarily taking control of others bodies. That way there is no threat of death or longlasting effects on other hosts.

PERSONAL ITEM: The Malorian 3516 is a power pistol made by the manufacturer named Malorian Arms. It was originally a prototype that was gifted to Johnny Silverhand by the owner of the company. Since it's an iconic power pistol, this gun packs one hell of a punch. A single bullet can cause some serious damage in the form of armor-piercing bullets.

Johnny's military dogtags are more of a sentimental item than practical. They list his true name, "Robert John Linder," along with his date of birth, bloodtype, and other personal information.

The DeLuze Orphean is the name of Silverhand's prized guitar. It's an all-black electric guitar with silver embellishments in the form of little cartoon-stylized bombs along the neck of the guitar and various stickers plastered across the case. The guitar is loosely based off the Jackson Dinky series with several modifiers for aesthetics, such as the "Fuck Tyrants" quote etched into the wood paneling.

Last but not least, his signature black SAMURAI custom jacket, black steel-toed boots, & famous red-black aviators. He's quite picky about his attire.

At first glance, Johnny looks like some washed up greaser with a bad attitude. However, he's a little bit more than just your average rockerboy with a dream and couple of eddies in his pocket. He has a number of intricate tattoos and scars that he collected throughout the years, each one possessing its own unique meaning. The symbolic nature of his tattoos was something of a mystery until recently, especially since many of Johnny's tatts just seem to be random numbers and symbols, but that couldn't be any further from the truth.

The "G20" tattoo most likely refers to the real-life "G20," which is essentially a group of 19 countries plus the EU that deals with issues like climate change and economic stability. It is an organization that has received widespread criticism for its lack of legitimacy as well as inadequacy in dealing with global concerns. The "A"-looking symbol on the right appears to be a delta symbol. In cyberpunk jargon, "delta" means to leave or go, therefore you can imagine what that tattoo represents.

As for the miu symbol "µ", it typically means coeficient of friction aka resistance of motion, or viscosity aka resistance of deforming in liquids. In simple terms, "resisting". Everything about these stattoos indidicates Johnny's willingness to resist the status quo.

Personality.

There's only so many ways I can describe Silverhand as a bastard, so let's focus on his good quirks first before things get nasty. Johnny is a sometimes morally inclined fellow who utterly hates the megacorporations with his entire soul. He sees how these corporations suck the lifeblood out of Night City and is morally opposed to all of their underhanded bullshit. Johnny is well aware of just how evil these corporations are and will stop at nothing to bring them down a peg. He's a champion of the common man, the kind of guy who doesn't hesitate to raise some hell for a good cause. After witnessing the horrors of war during his deployment to Venezuela during the Second Central American Wars, that the government is nothing more than a business willing to sacrifice American lives for the sake of profit. His heavy anti-corporation stance coincides with his heavy anti-war agenda. Johnny utterly hates what has become of humanity and will stop at nothing to change the status quo.

Now let's get into why Johnny Silverhand is honestly a manipulative asshole with a 'messiah' complex. Silverhad got his nickname from his silvery bionic left arm he had implanted shortly after losing his actual arm during deployment. It's heavily hinted that Johnny was probably one of the earliest victims of cyberpsychosis and, as a result, became very temperamental and unpredictable. He is described in various bits of lore as "ambitious and dangerous" despite his dedication to rid of big corporations.

He usually doesn't care about the people around him unless he sees them as useful. The manner he handled Rogue, as well as his relentless manipulation of his bandmates, demonstrated this. While Johnny appears to be unaware of this personality trait, he gradually realizes that he is the core cause of all of his troubles. His memories of the night of the Arasaka Tower Bombing remain muddled. He claims to have faced the Adam Smasher, a legendary mercenary who has been in service since the late 2000s. However, past media coverage of his death in the Arasaka Tower Bombing contradicts this. Johnny is not a great hero, but rather a confused and distraught man who had no fighting chance against the megacorporation, Arasaka.

Despite everything, Johnny is a brilliant artist and songwriter who is well-liked by many people. Even 50 years later, his hits like "Black Dog" and "Never Fade Away" are remembered and adored. While few people remember who Johnny Silverhand was as a person, his name holds some weight decades later making him a legend among legends.
