The man has a habit of being aggressive and crude one minute and then almost nice and cheerful the next. Earning his respect is exceedingly difficult, but not impossible. Johnny, known for his polarizing personality, has intense emotional highs and depressing lows. He's in a perpetual mania that appears to never end since he has drugged himself with various narcotics and stimulants throughout the years. The man uses alcohol as a means to keep himself regulated, and when that fails, he busts out the synthcoke or fucks a hooker or two. Johnny is a man living on the edge. While he teeters on the brink of self-destruction almost every day, it's a miracle he doesn't fall off the edge into the abyss.
Johnny is wild, almost feral to a degree. It's difficult to predict what he'll do next because he's such a loose cannon, but his mental connection with V seems to help him regulate himself to some extent. Johnny doesn't seem to know how to conduct himself sometimes, and that's because the man is honestly bipolar. Manic depression, as mentioned in his Cyberpunk 2077 in-game database entry, is simply another term for bipolar disorder.
